Remark Community is a charity set up by Deaf people for Deaf people to reignite the Deaf community spirit of old.

Deafness is a unique disability.  With an entirely different language to contend with many Deaf British Sign Language (BSL) users cannot access mainstream provisions.  Remark Community has been created to promote equality of access to services in British Sign Language, to include advocacy, information and advice, and to increase socialisation through deaf clubs, lunch clubs, sports and recreation.

We aim to:

  • Promote equality for Deaf people
  • Relieve social isolation and exclusion for Deaf people
  • Assist older Deaf people with financial hardship
  • Encourage active lifestyles
  • Promote mental well being amongst Deaf people

We have been uniquely established alongside a commercial company, creating ongoing opportunities to benefit from the company’s efficiency and resources.  Every time you book an interpreter, register to attend a training course, commission a film, or send us a project to be translated onto BSL a portion of funds received is donated to Remark! Community to spend on worthwhile causes.  Many thanks to all our clients and friends, without you this would not be possible.
