NDCS is the national charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people. We represent the interests and campaign for the rights of all deaf children and young people from birth to independence.

NDCS believes that the family is the most important influence on a deaf child's development. NDCS supports the deaf child through the family as well as directly supporting deaf children and young people themselves.

About the Film Project in West Midlands

Remark! will sponsor a fantastic project organised by NDCS.

In October 18 deaf children aged 11-15 will take part in a three-day film project in West Midlands. The children will learn through a series of interactive workshops how to script, perform and produce their own short film.This will be publically screened and its premier preview will be at the Remark! TV and Film Awards.

About NDCS arts programme

NDCS has delivered arts projects for deaf children for 35 years, constantly evolving to reflect the changing educational landscape and to take on board feedback from children and parents. Our current programme gives deaf children and young deaf people access to a wide range of arts activities, including visual arts, theatre, dance, creative writing and film.

We work with arts professionals around the UK to develop activities that meet the specific needs of deaf children, while maintaining a high standard of artistic quality throughout. We train our partners from mainstream arts organisations in deaf awareness so that they can deliver effective workshops that will include and inspire both deaf and hearing children.
