Judges - Laraine Callow

Laraine Callow, Director of Deafworks (a former arts teacher herself) has continued her lifelong interest in the arts and media. She believes passionately in D/deaf arts and media practitioners being in control of their own destiny and Deafworks has given several small grants to D/deaf film-makers. Laraine is an ex Chair of Deafinitely Theatre and currently organises the Deaf arts Practitioners in London Network as well as running presentation workshops for visual artists and carries out research for the Arts Council. She was a Judge for the Access to the Arts Award (Museums & Galleries Association). Laraine is an ardent fan of creative ways to shatter the glass ceiling by making a piece of artwork or a film about this!
