I have 20 years experience of working within the Media Industry, as Producer, Director and Presenter. This experience includes the BDA's London Deaf Video Project, the BBC's 'See Hear' and Central Office of Information (COI) "Open I" and I am currently working for the Signing Team, as an In-vision Deaf Interpreter for Red Bee Media Limited. I am a native BSL user from a third generation of Deaf family in Scotland.

In my spare time I give advice and support to young Deaf people who have graduated in media studies and want to have work experience in the mainstream media world. There are a lack of job opportunities available and several barriers for them in the media world. I would like to give a huge credit to deaf led production websites which set up opportunities ie Sign Tube of Deaf community news, Remark's Deaflympics (Taipei) and Deafeatures's citizen news reporting, as they give us news highlights of the deaf world! These are made close to the events so we don't have to wait a few months for deaf programmes to be shown on TV!
