Summary

This workshop is an opportunity to explore the practical, professional and personal aspects of being a freelance communication professional working with sign language users. In this session we will firstly consider at the practical things that you need to consider; what you need to include on your invoice, implementing and managing an effective admin/finance system, and finding work and managing your diary.

Additionally, we will look at working collaboratively with agencies and clients, continuing professional development the value of supervision. Finally, we will have some time to discuss how we might avoid burnout and the crucial variables that are self-care and resilience.
