Summary
This one-day workshop will encourage candidates to go even further with their use of IS.
Recommended only for these who have experience in working with IS or have completed Part 2, we will delve into the world of professional use of IS. Looking at a range of organisations and deaf events and how meetings between deaf professionals from different countries communicate.
We will particularly look at the European Union of the Deaf, their Youth section, the World Federation of the Deaf, Frontrunners, and a range of news and media sources that focus on deaf events and news. An intensive glossary of internationally accepted signs for use in meetings and conferences will be used
Learning Objectives
Be able to understand a professional level of International Sign.
Discuss complex topics and use signed definitions appropriately.
Expand IS vocabulary to cover organisation and conference level meetings.
Achieve new standards in conversation, production and receptive skills, with both their own signed language as well as in Interntaional Sign.
Participants will have the confidence to start working in formal Interntaional settings.
